Saint George & Dragon Silver Pendant
A sterling silver pendant from 1952 depicting Saint George slaying the dragon.
Legend has that the dragon was gradually offered livestock to keep the villagers safe. When the sheep ran out, a princess was offered to the dragon - at which point St. George intervened and slayed the dragon. St. George is regarded with great respect in Christianity. Oldest versions of this legend come from 11th century Cappadocia.
