An Antique Victorian era Scottish agate brooch set in sterling silver with a slate back. This piece has a wide variety of unique agate specimens that are all firmly set in place and free of chips and scratches. The inner and outer bezels test as sterling silver, but are unmarked. The tube hinge and pin on the back are both base metal. Our educated guess is that it’s from the 1860’s to 1870’s, the hinge tube hinge construction is very basic. Truly a one of a kind piece!

Era: Mid Victorian (1837-1901)
